Seasonal Hours: Call for a visit.
Carol and Charles Tannenbaum manage their small lavender farm in the McKenzie River Valley about ten miles east of Springfield, Oregon near Walterville, OR. Located among the pastoral beauty of hazelnut orchards and pastures of grazing cattle or romping horses, the farm adds bright color and sweet aromas to the summer experience of the Valley. Carol had gardened for many years before they started the lavender venture in 2003. In 2011 we celebrated the opening of our Lavender Labyrinth. In 2013 “Let It Bee” our chainsaw art sculpture joined our farm.
Lavender varieties include Lavandula x intermedia cultivars: ‘Grosso’, ‘Abrialii’, and ‘Provence’ and Lavandula angustifolia cultivars: ‘Elizabeth’ and ‘Royal Velvet’. The farm’s specialty lavender products include: ‘Grosso’ essential oil and hydrosol; handmade lavender soaps, lotion, and body butter; organza sachets; dried floral bunches; colorful ribbon-woven wands; dried buds; and fresh bouquets in season.
The farm is usually open to visitors during our annual Lavender Festival; however, the planned July 10-12, 2020 Festival is now cancelled due to the need to limit large gatherings through the summer. In lieu of the Festival we will be celebrating Lavender Bloom July 10-12 by prior registration only. Visit McKenzie RiverLavender.com to learn more and purchase tickets.
